CELEBRATING PATTI GOLDEN: THE HEART OF ELLIS ISLAND EVENTS

At Wizard Studios, we believe in celebrating the incredible talents and achievements of our partners and we are thrilled to spotlight Patti Golden, the Director of Sales at Ellis Island Events. Patti's illustrious career and recent accolades underscore her unparalleled dedication to the events industry. With two remarkable awards—the Hall of Legends of ILEA and the Women in Tourism Award for Cultural Arts-Museums—Patti has solidified her place as a trailblazer in the event industry.

“TWO FOR TWO, BABY!”

When asked how it feels to receive these prestigious awards, Patti's joy and pride are palpable. "It feels awesome to be recognized by your peers and industry professionals who have helped to pave your way!" she exclaims. The Hall of Legends of ILEA induction was a moment of reflection for Patti, marking over 25 years of her dynamic career on Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Her passion for her work has made the years fly by, transforming challenges into memorable experiences.

Receiving the Women in Tourism Award for Cultural Arts-Museums was another pinnacle moment. Patti shared the stage with 20 other distinguished women in the industry, celebrating the collective achievements of women paving the path to tourism success. "To share the stage with them was truly an honor. Girl Power! And a shout-out to Jaclyn Bernstein for nominating me!" Patti beams.

A JOURNEY OF DEDICATION & GROWTH

Patti's journey in the events industry is a testament to perseverance and the power of mentorship. Her career began with a boss who believed in her potential despite the skepticism of others higher up the corporate ladder. Starting as a Catering Manager at The Bear Mountain Inn, Patti booked and produced her first event, setting the stage for a career filled with milestones.

Transitioning to Ellis Island was a significant move for Patti, a country girl initially overwhelmed by the big city. Here, she met a mentor who taught her everything about the industry, a relationship that remains influential to this day. Patti emphasizes the importance of surrounding oneself with positive influences and building a network of supportive peers. "ILEA has given me the visibility to 'Find More Persons' in business—many of whom have become more like family than just business associates."

Her career also took her to the United Nations' Delegates Dining Room, another prestigious venue that complemented her impressive portfolio. Yet, Ellis Island remained close to her heart, where she continues to create unforgettable events.

THE BIRTH OF A DYNAMIC PARTNERSHIP

Wizard Studios’ collaboration with Patti and Ellis Island Events began with a determined outreach by our Executive Producer, Nikki Leynor. "Nikki had solicited me on LinkedIn and stayed with it until I thought this girl really wants our business and we should give her a chance," Patti recalls. This tenacity paid off, as Nikki and the Wizard Studios team have consistently protected the Ellis Island brand, navigating the unique challenges of working at a National Monument with finesse.

Patti highlights the seamless integration of Wizard Studios into the Ellis Island team, praising our ability to bring client's visions to life within the constraints of a historic venue. This partnership has not only produced spectacular events but has also forged a bond built on trust and mutual respect. What distinguishes the partnership between Ellis Island Events and Wizard Studios is the cohesive mission to produce spectacular events. Patti views our Wizard Studios team as an extension of her own, united in our dedication to excellence. This collaboration is more than just a professional relationship; it's a beautiful blend of shared goals and values.

INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION OF WOMEN

As an award-winning leader, Patti's advice to aspiring women in tourism and cultural arts is to be proactive and visible. "Make sure people know your name and what you do. Love what you do because it will show through and make you more successful," she advises. Patti champions networking and active involvement in industry organizations like ILEA, NYC & Company, MPI, and HSMAI. "Introduce people too. I love connecting with people. The more people you know in the industry, the farther you will go."

Patti's journey and achievements are a beacon of inspiration, demonstrating that success in the events industry is built on relationships, mentorship, and a passion for the craft. We are proud to celebrate Patti Golden and look forward to many more years of collaboration and shared success. Stay Golden, Patti!
